How can I cancel my lease/contract?

Here is a step-by-step guide of what you need to do when cancelling  a contract:

  1. Let Tokyo Apartment Team know that you would like to move out at least 60 days (2 months) prior to the date you wish to do so. Please send a cancellation notice to contact@tokyoapartment-d.com.
  2. We will send a cancellation form. Please fill out all required fields as directed and send it back to us 60 days (2 months) prior to your move-out date.
  3. Remove all furnishings (except the furniture you rented from us) and clean the apartment.
  4. Set up a schedule for an inspection of the condition of the apartment with one of our agents. This is usually on the day of move-out.
  5. Cancel the utility contracts with appropriate parties a week before moving out. They provide services in English.

  1. We will send you an invoice for your total move-out fees. It will include the cleaning fees stipulated in your contract plus other restoration fees, if any.
  2. Please pay the move-out fees within 1 week after moving out.

 

What happens when my lease/contract expires?

Details of your contract’s end date are outlined in your lease agreement. Tokyo Apartment will contact you 2 months prior to this date to ask if you wish to renew your lease or not. Once you notify us of your decision, the appropriate documentation will be sent to you.

 

Do I need to be present during the move-out inspection?

Yes. For a smooth move-out, it’s better if you’re present during the inspection so your agent and home inspector will be able to answer all your concerns about the report and any problem areas regarding the current condition of the apartment.
